Alzheimer Unit
Our
twenty-nine bed Alzheimer Unit is restraint free. For the residents'
safety, access to the campus is controlled through the use of an
electronic patient monitoring system. This system provides security for
the resident while allowing access to the many facility amenities. The
Alzheimer Unit is an extension of the rest of our home, and as such,
residents are encouraged to dine in the main dining area as well as
attend the many social functions held throughout the home.Familiarity and comfort are achieved by maintaining the same staff on the Unit consistently including Nursing, Housekeeping and Activities Personnel. Activities on the Unit incorporate tasks of daily living that are routine and familiar to the resident creating a feeling of "family" and "home." The Unit is supervised by an LPN trained in Alzheimer programming.
